"He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

Emotionally, we all suffer hurts and get wounded at some point in life. For some, those wounds are deep and they can even affect other areas of a person's physical, mental and spiritual life. Because we are affected, it also affects those around us as we are not able to properly interact with those closest to us in our families and on our jobs and in our church. The good news is that God heals the brokenhearted and ministers to our deepest hurts, if we let Him work in us. If you have been wounded, here are some simple steps that you need to take to see yourself come to wholeness in Christ:
1. Find God's help by asking the Lord to heal your broken heart (Psalm 147:3)
2. Forgive those who have hurt you & seek reconciliation (Matthew 18:15-22)
3. Forsake & repent of your feelings of revenge & hatred (Romans 12:18-21)
4. Fill your heart with God's love through the Holy Spirit's help (Romans 5:5)
5. Forget the past & reach forward to the good that is ahead (Phil. 3:13-14)
6. Face your weaknesses & seek God's strength for victory (2 Corinthians 12:9)
7. Fellowship with joyful believers who will encourage you (Proverbs 15:30)
8. Force yourself to choose to endure hardships patiently (James 5:11)
9. Feed on God's Word for healing by claiming specific verses of scripture that address your heart's need (Jer. 15:16)
10. Forever give praise & worship to God (Psalm 5:11)
11. Form a thankful attitude to God (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
12. Frustrations are to be vented to God in prayer & not at others in anger (Psalm 109:21-31)
13. Fully comprehend your identity in Christ for your self-worth (Ephesians 2:10)
14. Familiarize yourself with God's view of you - love & acceptance in Christ (Ephesians 1:6)
15. Feelings that are not good can be changed & overcome as you change the way you think (Colossians 3:1-10)
16. Free your mind from negative & evil thoughts by replacing them with good ones (Philippians 4:4-8)
These simple steps will help you come to wholeness in Christ, but in reality it takes a divine, healing touch of the Holy Spirit that convicts and then removes things from our hearts as we pray and let Him work in us.
